In 1983 my revelatory and controversial book about the New Age Movement, THE HIDDEN DANGERS OF THE RAINBOW: THE NEW AGE MOVEMENT AND OUR COMING AGE OF BARBARISM was published and released by Huntington House. German, Norwegian, Dutch, and perhaps other translations followed.. My topic was the New Age Movement and its ramifications for society, that were far from the "utopian" image that Mr. Wilson suggests. Indeed, Mr. Fetzer himself had to know better. He was clearly a major insider on the New Age socio-political as well as "spiritual scene." He personally read enough of Alice Bailey, listened to Benjamin Creme, and read Helena Petrovna Blavatsky to know that Lucifer was deified in the New Age Movement -- a fact conveniently missing from Mr. Wilson's chronicling. That is an obvious aspect of the New Age Movement that many "scholars" obviously have read, but chose not to report. My pioneering book warning about those hidden dangers of the Movement that included goals of massive population reduction and suppression of monotheistic religions -- Jews, Christians, and Moslems, except in some "transformed" apostate version were clearly targeted in New Age writings of Alice Bailey, David Spangler, Benjamin Creme, Barbara Marx Hubbard to name but a few. Fetzer had to have been very much aware of that. It iis my opinion that Wilson through his extensive bibliography and claimed readings had to be aware of it as well. Of my own work starting in 1981, some listened and paid close attention. Others scoffed and accused me of a "conspiracy theory" for accurately quoting the plans and intentions of the New Agers to usher in a "new Christ" to lead a "New Age" in a massively depopulated world free of Jewish, Christian, and Islamic influences.Wilson's book proves every last thing I wrote about the New Age Movement then and much more. Ironically, John E. Fetzer and I grew up in the same corner of Indiana (Fort Wayne region), albeit in different generations. We had similar religious backgrounds. Our paths away from the Seventh Day Adventist Church, however, were totally divergent. John E. Fetzer unfortunately threw the baby out with the bathwater. He abandoned virtually every concept of orthodox forms of Christianity and monotheism in favor of monistic, theosophical, and "New World Religion" beliefs. He was a proud member of what Marilyn Ferguson called "The Aquarian Conspiracy." Reading Dr. Wilson's book affirms that John E. Fetzer was indeed an "Aquarian Conspirator" in the most literal sense of that coined phrase. He was a true believer in Benjamin Creme's "Maitreya the Christ", Alice Bailey writings, "The Great Invocation", reincarnation, and so much more. He was actively seeking to usher in what the New Agers think as "utopia." He truly abandoned Christ for anti-Christ and left his vast fortune and resources to perpetrating the worst schemes and plans of the New Agers.Interestingly, there is not one word in Dr. Wilson's book about the open and fervent Luciferianism of the New Age Movement as openly expressed in the Alice Bailey, Blavatsky, and Rosicrucian books so important to Mr. Fetzer. To those seduced by these claims of a New Age utopia, I strongly urge you to read the fine print in the New Age foundational books. You will discover that the Lucis Trust "Great Invocation" and the Theosophists openly adulated Lucifer, as did New Age leader David Spangler, and Alice Ann Bailey and many others. . Indeed, I have 3 books in my personal library from when Lucis Press went by its original name: LUCIFER PRESS.Yes, there were Hidden Dangers in the New Age Rainbow when I wrote my then best-selling and widely translated Hidden Dangers. You may pull my book HIDDEN DANGERS down for free by going to https://tinyurl.com/p6gx4f7. You might even find used hard copies here at Amazon. Keep it open and beside you as you read Dr. Wilson's FETZER book. You will find his a virtual mirror image opposite. Everything I said "watch for" this book proclaims they were doing and working for its future implement via Mr. Fetzer's huge fortune being dedicated to the growth and perpetuation of the New Age Movement and the socio/religious structures to go with it.Oh, and one more thing for the author, Brian C. Wilson. Thanks for the additional research leads. Combined with Google search capabilities, they sure help! Interestingly, Marilyn Ferguson herself personally phoned me in the summer of 1988 to inform me she was enroute to Mr. Fetzer's "Healing the Whole World" conference in Kalamazoo, Michigan. No, I did not get an invitation to it, nor did I seek one.Bluntly, Mr. Fetzer's beloved New Age Movement was part of a major thrust to usher in the Antichrist. As such, it is totally incompatible with any legitimate form of Christianity. It is tragic that the Seventh Day Adventist leaders of Andrews University gave him (Fetzer) an honorary doctorate in 1980 and that the Kalamazoo Presbyterian pastor near his side at his hour of death did nothing to set him straight. In my opinion, unless they were completely in the dark about Mr Fetzer's occult spirituality, which I deeply doubt, they were as culpable as he. Andrews University (formerly known as Emmanuel Missionary College ) received generous contributions from Mr. Fetzer over the years. A recent web search revealed to me that they are running some of the Fetzer Institute programs at their school. Did they care more about Mr. Fetzer's money than his soul? That's how it presently appears to me.May the Lord help us all!Constance E. Cumbeycumbey@gmail.com

Brian C. Wilson’s book John E. Fetzer and the Quest for the New Age is a thought-provoking piece that follows the true story and life of American business tycoon John Fetzer. Although Fetzer’s legacy revolves around his enterprises as a radio and television executive of the 20th century, and more famously as the owner of the the Detroit Tigers, this book focuses on his own personal story of seeking spiritual fulfillment in life that his millionaire status and business success could never provide. I picked up this book, curious to see how Fetzer’s desire of living a spiritual life was first and foremost produced and what measures he employed in both achieving spiritual enlightenment as well as in what he did to impart New-Age influences onto America.Overall I found this book to be highly captivating and an accurate portrayal of how American standards and ideals of achieving success, and how that notion of success is flawed in several ways. This book not only highlights Fetzer’s struggles of feeling unfulfilled in life in spite of having tremendous financial success and becoming a prominent American figure and icon, but also encapsulates a more universal experience of many in America who struggle under capitalism and the notion that success is measured in quantity and ownership rather than more metaphysical and spiritual aspects that provide happiness that even Fetzer’s Forbes millionaire status could not grant.

John E. Fetzer and the Quest for the New Age by Brian Wilson follows the story of John Fetzer as he rose from the rank of a small town boy to one of the wealthiest men in America. Fetzer started the first radio station in Southern Michigan and was then able to use what he had learned to expand further into technology. He amassed a large sum of money in the process of doing this and continued to learn more and more as he grew. He received two presidential appointments and also became the sole owner of the Detroit Tigers baseball team. But this was never enough for him. In time, he grew to become more and more interesting in New Age religion and what it represented. He explored the new ways that people were exploring religion and spirituality. He became interested in Oujia Boards, UFOs, and other modern forms of enlightenment that were missing from the upbringing that he had. This research that he did and the things he experienced and learned is what most of this book is focused on. The author has spent time looking into everything the Fetzer learned in his time and has put together a fascinating story of a very unusual man who went far in life and tried to give others the opportunity to learn from his. I enjoyed the read. It was interesting in many different ways. Fans of baseball will not enjoy this, as that aspect of Fetzer's life is not explored in detail here, but people who enjoy reading about people will not be able to put this down.

As I read the first chapter of this book, I was impressed with the simple, directness of the text. I soon discovered that being plain-spoken is far from simple as the book explored, in depth, one man's search for spiritual awareness and the meaning of life and living. John E. Fetzer was born into an age that allowed him to be in on the beginning of many things: the beginning of spiritualism as a movement and way of life, the beginning of radio, and even as a man associated with sports. This is not, however, just the biography of a man. It is the biography of the development and testing of the values of a nation -- values that have never been in more question than they are today. If your heart is troubled, if you are seeking understanding, I highly recommend reading this book. It is not a book about religion, per se, but it is about being a seeker, striving to think for yourself, and building something that means something out of personal values. You can read it as a history or as a journey. I believe that it can be enjoyed on many levels.
