The photographs in this book are fantastic. This is a large coffee table type book, but has a lot of interesting text and wonderful quotes that accompany the photos. Perhaps this is a picky complaint, but I found reading the essays and flipping to the back of the book to identify the quotes a bit awkward, considering the size of the book. Still, I would recommend this book to all dog lovers. Best enjoyed for the very special pictures of dogs in action and for the lovely quotes.

I have dozens of dog books, but this is by far my favorite. The photography is fantastic. Some of the pictures bring tears to my eyes because they are so beautiful This THE coffee table book for dog lovers.

This is an absolutely gorgeous book of pictures of dogs. Their expressions are wonderful and anyone who loves dogs should have this book. It is much more than what I expected and the story is wonderful also. I simply love it!!

Chris Tranberry and Martina Baker I love you guys work in this keto fat bomb and bread cookbook. I have tried most of the keto bread and muffin recipes and I enjoyed them. They are helping me manage my food craving habit which sometimes make me go off keto track. But since I bought this cookbook, I have been following the meal prep guides. All I do is to make some meals ahead so that I will always have something to eat between meal times. Am now fully back on keto track!

I enjoy cookbooks with simplified recipe steps. This keto cookbook is one of the best ketogenic cookbooks I have used so far. The recipes require few ingredients and few minutes to prepare and cook. The weight loss tips were also wonderful!

The sweet and savory liquid and frozen keto fat bomb recipes turned out great and require few minutes to make. For the frozen keto fat bomb recipes, I prefer to make at night against the next day so that they freeze well. But for the smoothies and shakes, I make them whenever I needed them. I prefer them fresh. This morning, tried the Amaretto chilled coffee recipe and it turned out great. So I used it as an appetizer. Thanks to the authors!

I think this keto book is more than a cookbook. I learnt a lot of helpful tips, ranging from keto, meal prep, kitchen tricks. Also the recipes were simple and straight forward. I have tried a few of the keto bread recipes. They were tasty and healthy. I recommend it for any freestyle weight watcher who wish to live a healthy ketogenic lifestyle.

I consider Metaxas one of the best writers living, but I was hesitant to read this one. First, it's thick (I usually prefer thin ones). Second, thousands of books have been written about Luther (and many written by him). Why do I need another Luther biography? Because it's Metaxas. He starts off perfectly, explaining how MLK, Jr. got his name, which basically leaves no doubt -- this is important to all of us. He then lists the things "everyone knows" about Luther -- that are all wrong! I was hooked.Not to ruin the surprise, but key information literally "unearthed" in 2008. So yes, Metaxas adds new information to a well told 500 year old story, and it is really worth examining.But here's the best part about Metaxas' biography -- he makes sure God gets the glory. So many details are known about Luther. It would be impossible for most to write this book, given all the information available. Metaxas pulls out the pieces of Luther's life that show how God was always part of the story. Beginning with his mom naming him Martin (and all the parallels with Saint Martin, who lived a millennium earlier). Luther was instrumental in the reformation, but he was not like "protesters" we know today. He could have been killed for his beliefs (like many before him and around him). He fully understood that. But he knew God is bigger. He clung to what was true, regardless of consequences. He listened to God, and he was brilliant, but he was not flawless in any sense. Metaxas gets that. God gets all the glory in this book.And ihe book is shockingly funny -- at least to me. I literally LOL'd many times. The people around me asked, "what?" -- and it was never easy to explain. I heard that earnest but lighthearted Metaxas voice delivering several lines, and it struck me as very humorous. I now suspect Luther would've liked it that way. This is not a story that praises Martin Luther. It is much more. Soli Deo Gloria.

I enjoyed the details in explaining the politics of indulgences. I recommend this book to anyone who is interested in church history and those of you that don’t really know how Martin changed the world. The misuse of power and politics is forgotten and must be remembered in context. I give it a high rating because Eric made this history captivating and impossible to put down once you start reading. This book is timely given the way we are tearing down statues of historical figures without considering the totality of a Man.

On Tuesday of this week I woke up to find both my kindle and audio version of the mammoth book. Since Bonhoeffer I have read every Metaxas book and both travel to see him at some of those book launches and become a regular listener of the Eric Metaxas Show normally by Podcast on the website. Since I knew the book was coming, I clear most of my schedule so I could read/listen to the book. It twenty hours long or 450 page (plus footnotes etc). Eric is without doubt an excellent writer! Something I am not. For most of my life I worked in the Printing profession so I was glad to see the Eric gave the invention of the printing press it's proper due in why Martin Luther's reforms work where other before him fell short. Martin Luther is depending on who list one of the top 5 people on the last Millennium. I personally rank him 2nd to Johann Gutenburg who moveable type combined with the Printing Press was the Reformation and the biggest event of the last millennium.Being a son of the Protestant Reformation I have never understood how one could be "Roman Catholic". Eric does the huge task of taking us back to the world of 1500 and that in Europe the Pope was ruler over all the rulers in what was called the Holy Roman Empire. The fact that this Monk could not be killed like nearly everyone else who dare question Catholic dogma of the time is in fact a GREAT story! Don't start this book on a Sunday night because it will ruin your week! Start on a Friday and don't plan on doing anything else for the weekend!Eric is like Martin in that he write book for the average reader. Buy and more importantly READ the book!

Another great biography by Eric Metaxas! I thoroughly enjoyed his work on Bonhoeffer, but I thought it was a bit tedious in its detail. Luther is another very nice book, but it lacked some of the tedious details that were in Bonhoeffer. One reviewer has called this book a "fluff" piece since it did not address the anti Semitic writings Luther made in the later part of his life. However, that reviewer must not have read the book as it does address some of the inexplicable statements that Luther made as an old man. Metaxas offers no explanation, but calls them inexplicable since they went against the 99.9 percent of his other writings. One could call them the work of an elderly man struggling with dementia or the work of an elderly man struggling with a bad temper. It would all be conjecture that overlooks the 99.9% of his other work. This book takes pains to bring to light so many things that we take for granted today like freedom of religion and democracy that were the results of Luther's movement. This book is not simply the re-telling of familiar events in Luther's life, it's meant to show the reader how Luther was the bridge Europe took to modern life. When one reads this book, one comes away from it realizing that Luther really did change the world.

This was a great guide for those of us who are big men. Much of what Mr. Centeno said is intuitive from looking carefully in a mirror and much of what he suggests I have already been doing, I have had a well-trimmed beard for many years, I have used braces on dress pants for ages, I have worn fedoras since early in college, and while I like clothes a tad loose and comfortable, I don't like them sloppy. Since the devil is in the details, I appreciated the detailed ideas and suggestions, some of which I hadn't thought about before such as the size of accessories, what is a good fabric for a suit, and wearing overalls for working.The other day I put on a watch I've had for more than 30 years, from when I was much smaller; it is a small watch and at my size now it looks like I'm wearing a woman's watch. I had forgotten about bibbers; I once intentionally bought a pair two sizes too big and they were the most comfortable things to use when working around the house or gardening or cleaning the garage. And they had lots of pockets!The two bits of advice I may ignore is regarding khakis and cuffs. One of the fundamentals in my wardrobe for the past forty years, since graduating from college, has been twill khaki chinos. I dress them up a half step with a white or light blue oxford cloth shirt with a button-down collar and dress them down a half a step with an indigo chambray shirt. My father knew of the practicality of twill chinos from his WWII Army uniform and this was reinforced for me as I was in one of the last groups to be issued twill khaki uniforms in the Air Force. My grandfathers wore cuffs, my father wore cuffs, I have always had cuffs on my suits and usually on my chinos. Some habits are too ingrained, or maybe too comfortable, to change.Finally, Mr. Centeno mentioned confidence when wearing a hat. While I am neither proud nor particularly happy about my size, neither am I ashamed of my size nor of who I am and when I walk down the street I stand tall with good posture. I think of a man like Orson Welles, who was by no means a small man, particularly in his later years, yet carried himself well. Mr. Centeno's good advice is all worthless if a man doesn't maintain good posture and stand tall and carry himself well, regardless his age or his size.

My husband was in the odd position of needing to buy a suit for a job interview, after years and years of not needing suits for work purposes. This interview is kind of a big deal, and he needed to look good.Purchasing this kindle book was a really good idea. It quickly covered the basics of things about men's style that we have needed to know but didn't. My husband is only overweight in the stomach area, but that radically changes how things like slacks fit, or how the suit coat buttons appropriately. The book covered important details like where the hem should be on suit slacks, where the waist should sit on someone with a larger belly, and where the sleeve hem should be on the suit coat -- all important information that makes the difference between a suit looking like it was bought off the rack and one that was altered to fit. It's worth the price of alteration, people!!! My husband's suit now looks great on him, and he looks fit and young in it.

This was a great "cliff's notes" guide for buying my new job interview outfit. There are plenty of useful tips that my internet researching didn't come up with.It's not without issues, though. I don't appreciate the constant reminders that big guys can look sloppy, lazy, and unintelligent. I'm well aware of that fact, thank you. Stick to the positives.I also didn't think the information was worth ten dollars. It's only a short cram guide with marginally-helpful illustrations. It felt thin and rushed without covering anything but the basics. I read it in about an hour.Because of the information I couldn't find elsewhere, I recommend it. But buy it discounted if you can.

Mr. Centeno, writes very vividly and offers timeless fashion advice for all men, not just big guys like me. I used to be a clothes horse before I put on 100 lbs. after I lost my parents. Thanks to Mr. Centeno's straightforward guide and non-sugar coated style, I can now dress like the man I am. Thanks Mr Centeno.

a short concise book. well written with easy to follow prescriptions of dress and the why of fashion. the author touchedon every major area of what a large man should wear to give an appearance of being in control and self assured. The only part of the book that was a little disappointing was the recommendations of places to buy a good wardrobe. After all I would think that men's departments in major stores like Dillards Joseph A Banks would be discussed. I feel all men would be aware that Wal-Mart is not a store worth spending time at looking for stylish wares.

I thought the authors did an excellent job of focusing on the unique style needs of large men. The tips were very practical and down to earth and easy to implement. It's really true that the "clothes make the man" -- and that is even more true for large men. By making a few strategic changes in your style choices, you can be perceived as a lot more professional and trustworthy. I highly recommend this book.

This is a good primer, and is well written, with easy to follow suggestions.Nothing really ground breaking, but does offer good sound advice on selecting and wearing clothes for those of us who are a bit fluffier. The suggestions follow traditional wisdom, and reinforce some old fashioned tools - such as suspenders over belts.Certainly worth a read, especially if you have let your fashion sense slip along with your waistline.

This looks like an excellent field guide - beautiful detailed photos and informative descriptions of the birds, their frequency and timing, and their habitats in New York State. Being state-specific, it would be helpful in finding as well as identifying birds. It's a good size/shape to carry, if you prefer print to apps or are out of range while out in the field.

Beautiful photos and very good text descriptions! Font is pretty small though for my old eyes.

Great bird guide (and I have lots of them)

An excellent guide to the birds of New York. Suggestions for where to see birds and distinguishing marks will be helpful to novice and more experienced birders.

Everything I hoped for.

pretty book- strong binding and great photos but not enough information.... not a value purchase vs. other guides of similar subject matter. Photos and book are well made....

I just ordered two of these books after borrowing a copy from my local library, one for me and one as a gift. I have the Sibley foldout guides, the Sibley Birds East, and the Merlin and iBird Plus apps, and other ID books, but THIS will be my new reference- it's much more useable! All photos, no drawings. Male and female of the species shown on the same page or facing pages, sometimes in flight, and the pictures are a good size, not tiny. The text is informative and indicates exactly where in NY the bird is most likely to be sighted. Well organized, it will be easy to find what I am looking for. I love that because it is a regional guide, the non-local birds are weeded out, making identification easier and likely more accurate for less experienced individuals like me. This is going to be a huge help, and thankfully my copies will arrive before I need to return the borrowed copy to the library.

Well written, well illustrated, this book will help NY birders and visitors find and identify most of the state's astounding variety of birds. Written by a regional expert, the guide provides information about where the best sites are for many sought-after species, making it possible for even the beginner to get a good solid start.
